The Switchboard

"an intimate afternoon of live music"

Music is a powerful means to connect with ourselves and our surroundings. After asking some local friends to play at The Switchboard so we could hear what live music would sound like, we were astounded by the acoustics and knew this art form had to be incorporated into our programming. We invite you into The Switchboard for our Acoustic Saturday's series, where music is the center of our community driven gathering space. Join us for an afternoon of entertainment!

Darren Hawe & Dmitri Hunt

Saturday, November 3rd, 2018

1 - 3 pm

Dmitri Hunt is a singer-songwriter from the Merrimack Valley.  His lyrics combine old fashioned sorrow with postmodern absurdity, citing the Modern Lovers and the Lemonheads as major influences. His music has been played on Merrimack College Radio, and he has performed at Heaventown events, O+ Festival, Plumfest, and various feature sets at open mics on the north shore. He is an introvert who hopes to help his listeners reflect and reminisce.

Darren Hawe has been in the Haverhill music scene for 12 years, playing multiple instruments with multiple bands. A singer songwriter, who's just versatile enough to make others think he's better than he is, and gets to play music with them. As you can see, he's not great at writing about himself (especially in the 3rd person} but he gave it a shot.  He rather hopes you'll come support local music, and local business. He has three EPs all available on your favorite streaming platforms.

Erica Russo & Hoonah

Saturday, December 8th, 2018

1 - 3 pm

Erica Russo is a singer-songwriter whose otherworldly tunes are at once delicate and soul-piercing, bathing the listener in tender vocals and haunting melodies that call to mind influences ranging from Cat Power to Ani DiFranco to early Modest Mouse. Russo combines her dreamy style of folk with indie pop to create deeply reflective and unforgettable songs. The Deli NYC calls her “a fascinating bundle of energy; there’s more to hear with every listen.”

Hoonah is Sarah Smith, a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist based out of western Massachusetts.  Hoonah writes and performs songs that are nature-focused and inspired by relationships, feelings, and personal experience.
